Evidence of English Skills

As a requirement of the Temporary Graduate Visa, you must demonstrate strong enough English skills to be successful in the Australian workplace.
Let's begin with who does not have to show English skills evidence. Applicants are exempt if she/he
-
holds a valid passport from the UK, USA , Canada, New Zealand, or Ireland
and -
is a citizen of that country
Accepted English Test Scores
Otherwise, you must provide one of the following documents as evidence of you skills at the time of application.
All scores below must be under 1-year-old at the time of the application.
IELTS - either General or Academic:
As of March 23, 2024, the new score required is equal to IELTS 6.5, with no skill less than 5.5.
Occupational English Test (OET):
A minimum of at least ‘B’ in each of the 4 components.
Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic:
An overall test score of at least 57, with a minimum score of 42 for speaking, 48 for reading, 43 for listening, and 51 for writing.
Cambridge C1 Advanced Test:
An overall test score of at least 176 with a minimum score of at least 162 in each of the four test components - speaking, reading, listening, writing.
Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-based test (TOEFL iBT):
A score of at least 83, with a minimum in the following: 7 for listening, 8 for reading, 18 for writing, 16 for speaking.

tests taken before July 26, 2023 can be used

tests taken from July 26, 2023 - May 4, 2024, will not be accepted for visa purposes

the test must be conducted in-person - online results will not be accepted
